An introduction to C,D lands of plot of former Hangzhou No.1 Textile Factory site (HTF)

1. Location
    East to the Grand Canal, C,D lands of plot of HTF is located in the north of the city center, middle of the Qiaoxi area of Gongshu. Crossing the Gongcheng Bridge east, you can easily reach the administrative and cultural center of Gongshu District. The project has the total site area of 84,632 square kilometers and the total floor area of 231,690 square kilometers. With the rapid development of north of the city and the influx of population, the value of the land is constantly rising up.
2. Transportation
    South to the Sanglu Street (sub trunk-road of the city) and the No.5 urban rail under the plan, west to the Tongyi Road (sub trunk-road of the city), east to the Xiaohe Road (sub trunk-road of the city) and north to the No.2 Model Road (bypass of the city), this land of plot can easily get access to any other places of the city by these four roads and the convenient transportation equipped the area with good development conditions.
3. Culture
    This land of plot is rich in historic relics and profound in cultural heritage. Sanglu, old site of Tongyi Cotton Mill and Gao’s Garden with the long history and well-stored ancient style; historic block of Qiaoxi with its historic dwelling house along the Canal at the end of Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic; Hangzhou Westbank International Art Zone making out of the remains of industrial sites along the Canal as well as National Knife, Scissors and Sword Museum, National Umbrella Museum and National Fan Museum all contribute to the great development potential of the place.
4. Sightseeing
    Located east to the Canal, the 180 li waterway scenery along the Canal brings about a wonderful view sight. And after the comprehensive renovation by the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government to the bridges over the Canal and the land of two sides along the Canal, especially water environment treatment and greenbelt construction to create high quality “water view” and “green view” and with the construction of landmark buildings( such as the West Lake Culture Square) and the improvement of the scenic spots and business & leisure facilities, the Grand Canal is gradually turning out to be a public space of sightseeing & leisure, entertainment and communication for the residents and the tourists, gaining its fame as a scenic river open to all.
5. Facilities
    The location of the District Government, the Canal Culture Square, Hangzhou No.2 Hospital, the District Library, the District Stadium, a nine-grade school, a kindergarten under the plan, Century Supermarket and the farm products market under the plan equip the place with convenient life supporting facilities and high quality education environment.
6. Planning structure
    By integrating the road and greening, together with the shift of the architectural plan, the general layout plan focuses on the design of the spatial shape of the city to create a design plan with comfortable living condition, convenient transportation, beautiful surroundings and proper arrangement.
    Public constructions To the northwest of the land, combining with the 2-3 storied shop premises with frontages on streets of the No.2 Road and connecting to the Qiaonong Street to the east of the Xiaohe Road, public-spirited construction is to be arranged to form a continuous commercial space, which can both enrich the scenery along the city road and reduce the disturbance of the road traffic to the residents. By picturesque disorder of the spatial arrangement and landscape elements of the traditional commercial street, the spatial organization of the public-spirited construction is planned to achieve the effects of dynamic street scenery and changing images.
 High-rise and medium-rise residential buildings are featured by the layout of “Different residential area, grouped arrangement”. Public space, formed naturally out of the circled buildings, has integrated green area, service facilities and paved surface with leisure and communication spots such as sightseeing chairs, pavilions and small squares as subordinate scenic spots to create communication space among the neighbours. A combination of board-styled and spot-styled arrangements not only versified the style of the area but also make it good for receiving sunlight. Connecting to the green area of Sanglv to the southeast corner, it has planned a building of a 12-class kindergarten.
